AMERICANS DESERVE TO KNOW THE TRUTH ABOUT THOMAS CROOKS AND THE PLOT TO ASSASSINATE PRESIDENT TRUMP — KAROLINE LEAVITT SPEAKS OUT AMONG SHOCKING NEW REPORT

White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt insisted on Pod Force One that the American people have a right to know what drove Thomas Crooks to try to assassinate President Trump, after a new report found he left behind a dangerous digital trail that the FBI never shared with the public.
“Those are completely legitimate questions,” Leavitt told journalist Miranda Devine. “I understand why people want to know the truth — and the president wants to know.” She stressed that the incident occurred 16 months ago, but there are still numerous ambiguities about Crooks’ true motives and how the FBI handled the information.
The new revelations contradict previous FBI statements. The FBI previously said Crooks “left no significant online footprint” and “could not determine a motive.” Now, posts on YouTube and Discord show him calling for political assassinations, talking about “terrorist-style attacks,” and using the pronouns “they/them.” Many of the posts also express extremist ideology dating back to when he was 15.
The FBI once claimed he “was never on the radar,” but now the public is asking: if these posts were public, why didn’t the FBI detect them? Or worse: did they detect them and not report them?
After the attempted assassination in Butler, Pennsylvania, Crooks was gunned down, leaving a firefighter dead and two Trump supporters seriously injured. Now, the new report raises a host of unanswered questions, including whether Crooks acted alone or was connected to a foreign entity; whether the FBI turned over all of the data to Congress; and whether investigators found all of
Crooks’ online activity or missed it.
Leavitt also revealed that President Trump himself asked the Secret Service and FBI for an update on the investigation, asking, “Have we learned anything since Butler?”
Sen. Ron Johnson, chairman of the Senate Homeland Security Committee, said he asked the FBI for records but was delayed so much that he signed a subpoena in July.
The new report, using phone numbers and publicly available data, shows that Crooks was once a staunch Trump supporter and attacked those who opposed him with violent language. But in 2020, amid the COVID-19 pandemic, he turned anti-Trump and advocated using violence to “create political change.”
The FBI has yet to comment.
Many Americans are asking: Was the attempted assassination of President Trump really investigated fully, or is the public only aware of the tip of the iceberg? And is there something the national security system is hiding to avoid criticism?
