JUST IN: Trump Overplays His Hand as Canada Turns the Tables on Washington

Donald Trump just picked a fight with the one country that literally keeps the lights on in parts of America—and lost control of the table.

He assumed Canada would fold. Polite Canada. Reliable Canada. Instead, they raised.

Trump threatened 25% tariffs, thinking fear was leverage. What he got was a calculated counterstrike—targeted tariffs, energy diversification, and zero panic. Auto plants stalled. Prices crept up.

Markets flinched. And American families are left holding the bill.

This isn’t about trade anymore. It’s about power—and Trump overplayed his hand.

Canada refused to rip up USMCA rules so Trump could cheat. That “no” sent him into a rage.

Now even the U.S. Chamber of Commerce is suing him, saying he abused emergency powers and violated the Constitution. Let that sink in.

If Canada can be declared a “national emergency,” then the law means nothing.

This isn’t toughness. It’s recklessness.

And the question now is simple:

Are we a nation of laws—or a nation ruled by one man’s ego?
