White House names Virginia Giuffre as victim in Epstein email

New bombshell documents released by the Democrats allegedly show Donald Trump “spent hours” at Jeffrey Epstein’s house with one of the disgraced financier’s victims – who has been identified by the White House as late Epstein survivor Virginia Giuffre.

On Wednesday, US time, the Democrats in the House of Representatives released emails it said were between Epstein and others, including his associate Ghislaine Maxwell, who is now in jail for abetting Epstein, and journalist Michael Wolff. Epstein died in jail in 2019 from suicide.

Mr Trump knew Epstein but he has denied any knowledge of Epstein’s illegal behaviour and there is no suggestion Mr Trump did anything illegal or untoward himself.

Nonetheless, the constant linking of Mr Trump to Epstein may not go down well with the MAGA base and will increase calls to release all the government files on him.

In one email in 2011, Epstein described Mr Trump to Maxwell as “that dog that hasn’t barked,” adding that an unnamed victim “spent hours at my house with him”.

“i want you to realize that that dog that hasn’t barked is trump.. (victim’s name) spent hours at my house with him ,, he has never once been mentioned. police chief. etc. im 75 % there.”

Maxwell replied that same day, writing: “I have been thinking about that.”

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt dismissed the emails in a statement and claimed the unnamed victim referenced was Virginia Giuffre.

Ms Giuffre, who died by suicide earlier this year,  alleged she was trafficked by Epstein and Maxwell to Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, formerly Prince Andrew, when she was 17. She has never accused Mr Trump of wrongdoing.

“The Democrats selectively leaked emails to the liberal media to create a fake narrative to smear President Trump,” Ms Leavitt said in a statement.

“The ‘unnamed victim’ referenced … is the late Virginia Giuffre, who repeatedly said President Trump was not involved in any wrongdoing whatsoever and ‘couldn’t have been friendlier’ to her in their limited interactions.

“The fact remains that President Trump kicked Jeffrey Epstein out of his club decades ago for being a creep to his female employees, including Giuffre.”

Another alleged email from Epstein to Wolff references his falling out with Mr Trump and an apparent request from Mr Trump for him to stop being a member of Mar-a-Lago.

“Trump said he asked me to resign (but I was) never a member ever. Of course he knew about the girls as he asked Ghislaine to stop,” the claimed email from 2019 states.

The “girls” appears to be a reference to one of the chief reasons Mr Trump fell out with Epstein as Mr Trump said, Epstein “took people that worked for me”. Some of those staff were later found to be underage. Epstein appears to to state in the email that he told Maxwell to stop poaching Mar-a-Lago staff.

Another email exchange, dated August 2018, reportedly shows Mr Epstein and former Obama White House Counsel Kathryn Ruemmler discussing Mr Trump’s former fixer, Michael Cohen, flipping on him.

In the exchange, Ms Ruemmler shared a New York Times opinion piece about Mr Trump’s first impeachment trial with Mr Epstein.

“You see, i know how dirty donald is. my guess is that non lawyers ny biz people have no idea. what it means to have your fixer flip,” Mr Epstein wrote.

The emails’ authenticity has not been verified.
